PORT ST. LUCIE — Two men on Friday afternoon tried to lure a 4-year-old girl into a pickup truck near Northwest Prima Vista and Northwest Bayshore boulevards, police said.
At about 5:30 p.m., the men pulled up to a house on Carmelite Drive in a gold Chevrolet Silverado truck and called to the 4-year-old, according to a statement released by Port St. Lucie police on Saturday.

What are these?
The girl’s mother, who was in the garage, looked up and saw one of the men open the door and lean out of the cab.
“Baby girl, come here,” she heard him say, the statement said.
The woman yelled to her daughter and then the truck drove off, heading south on Carmelite Drive.
Anyone with information can call Detective Brinton Black of the Port St. Lucie Police Department at (772) 871-5000.
There’s been two attempted abductions in my city this past month and several more around the area.
Thank God all of the kids knew to run away and in one case the girl’s scream alerted enough adults to capture the guy.
All the others the police got a description of their vehicle used in the attempt.
We’re keeping our kids close. (3 giant steps)
